Creating a Sales and Support Agent allows you to streamline customer interactions and provide a more personalized experience. By assigning dedicated agents for sales and support, you can:
- Ensure faster response times for your customers,
- Distribute tasks more efficiently within your team,
- Keep communication organized across multiple channels, and
- Improve customer satisfaction and retention.
In the steps below, you will learn how to create and configure a Sales and Support Agent.
Before you begin, make sure you are logged in and that your account has the necessary permissions to create an agent.
Step 1: Navigate to the Tools section and click + Create new tool to start the setup process.
Here you will make sure that you input information such as ID, Name, Description and Python code. This is important because it helps you:
- Uniquely identify each agent,
- Keep your workspace organized, and
- Understand the purpose of the agent at a glance.
- Define the logic and functionality of the agent through Python code.
Once you are done, click on create Tool
Step 2: Go to the Skills tab and click + Create new skill
When creating a new skill, make sure to include the following:
- Basic information – ID, Name, and Description,
- Tools – select the tools that this skill will use,
- Language model – choose the underlying language model from the drop-down menu,
- Detailed description – provide a clear explanation of what the skill will be used for.
Defining skills is important because it ensures your agent has the right capabilities, is connected to the correct tools, and is powered by the most suitable model for its purpose.
Step 3: Navigate to the Agent tab and click + Create new agent.
When setting up the agent, make sure to complete the following mandatory fields:
- ID
- Role
- Role name
- Role description
Additionally, be sure to:
- Assign the skills required for the agent to fulfill its role,
- Add a conversation starter that will initiate interactions.
Once you are satisfied with the setup, click Create agent.
Your newly created agent will then appear in the list and will be ready for use.
