Overview
To ensure secure and appropriate access across the platform, we use role-based access control (RBAC). This means every user is assigned a role that determines what features they can access and what actions they can perform.
There are four user roles available on the platform. Each has a defined set of permissions designed for different use cases.
User Roles
1. Chat user
- What they can do:
- Access the chatbot through any channel your organization has enabled (e.g., web, WhatsApp, Messenger).
- What they canβt do:
- No access to the platform graphical interface.
- Typical users: End customers or internal users who only need to interact with chatbots.
2. Standard user
- What they can do:
- Use all chatbot channels.
- View agents, configurations, and platform settings in read-only mode.
- What they canβt do:
- Create, edit, or delete anything on the platform.
- Typical users: Business stakeholders or team members who need visibility but no editing rights.
3. Developer user
- What they can do:
- All standard user permissions.
- Create and modify agents.
- Configure platform settings.
- Deploy and manage chat integrations.
- What they canβt do:
- Manage users or tenant-wide settings.
- Typical users: Developers or technical team members building and maintaining your chatbot experiences.
4. Super user
- What they can do:
- Full access to everything on the platform.
- All developer user permissions.
- Manage users and assign roles.
- Configure tenant-level settings.
- What they canβt do:
- Nothing β they have full control.
- Typical users: Administrators or tenant owners.
Role management
- Super users can add or remove users and assign roles.
What youβll see in the platform
- The interface will always show you your current role.
- Features you donβt have access to will be hidden or shown as read-only, so thereβs no confusion.
- If you need access to additional features, please contact your Super User or platform administrator.
